It's been know for 100 years that ketogenic diet helps epilepsy (perhaps, other brain disorders too).

Plant-based, carbohydrate-heavy diets compromise some systems, such as the cardiovascular, very slowly, making them dangerous and insidious. Fortunately, returning to our evolved metabolism improves many things very quickly. This is most pronounced in the brain. The neurological response is almost immediate. This has been known for over a century at least in the case of epilepsy, but I and others can attest to the response in psychiatric cases as well. It takes courage to admit you've had a psychiatric disorder, but every time someone speaks out about this it improves the chances for others to discover it. Thank you, Stephan.

Recently after reaching out to a few hackers and doctors in the community, I've changed my diet from borderline vegan to a ketogenic diet, including meats, lotsof natural fats, and cheese.
A year or so ago I was diagnosed with some mental health challenges.
Since changing my diet, I can feel negative thoughts arise but quickly subside as another part of my mind calms the rest of it. My mental & physical health are getting even better than they were already.
If you suffer from any neurological disorders, I suggest reading about the ketogenic diet: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ketogenic_diet
