In all of science, it is impossible to PROVE anything, But you CAN prove something WRONG.

Ok I just watched this 'Keto Summit' interview with Dr. Rosedale and he dropped this excellent 'truth bomb' rant that I transcribed here 😏👊🏽
[sorry but videos are behind a paywall and I am *NOT* selling anything here, just passing on this excellent rant!! 🙂]
————————————————————————
Dr. Rosedale, in a recent Keto Summit interview:
"In all of science, it is impossible to PROVE anything.
You can't ever prove anything, conclusively.
But you CAN prove something WRONG.
If there is one thing that has been proven most wrong in the history of nutrition, that would be that COUNTING CALORIES DOES NOT WORK.
The only way a person is not going to overeat is if they are NOT HUNGRY.
Nature knows knows this. The fact that medicine hasn't picked up on this is totally baffling to me.
It is your CELLS that eat. You don't actually eat, you just process the food.
You eat to control the HORMONES that will regulate what your cells eat.
If you are eating the RIGHT calories, then you have no choice but to burn fat. And if you are burning fat, your cells will be eating all of the time, even when you're not putting food in your mouth.
When your cells are able to eat fat, they're eating fat 24 hours a day, and you're not going to be hungry.
If you burn glucose as your primary fuel, you're going to crave it all the time.
We couldn't live a whole day if we had no fat and we could only burn glucose from glycogen.
Our biggest source of glucose is actually protein—our muscle and our bone—and there is the problem. If we are addicted to glucose, that is, if our hormones are telling our cells that they have to burn glucose, during the day we can constantly eat it. Which makes our insulin resistance worse. But at night time, when we aren't eating, we have to break down protein from our muscle and our bone."

Burn Fat Not Sugar Sorry about the typos...here is a corrected one!
Jude Roeder It reads to me that "counting calories does not work" has been proven WRONG.
Burn Fat Not Sugar yes, I agree, but I was quoting Dr. Rosedale on this one (his words not mine)! 😜 hopefully everyone gets the idea 😏
Jude Roeder I actually listened to this interview and am pretty sure I heard the mix up and was confused but never replayed. Thanks for clarification and thoroughly love your stuff.

Diana Charles Are his protein recommendations still the same?
Burn Fat Not Sugar Yes, before he was lowish at like 1 gram per pound of lean mass per day and now he recommends even slightly lower, like 0.8 g/kg. I bit lower than mine but honestly I think the carbohydrate avoidance is a much bigger deal. 🙂
William Mize Who doesn't love a good keto science rant? NO ONE.
Ellie Booth Listened to this three times already ... awesome!
Jude Roeder OK Doc at the risk of making a mistake here I am not getting the fourth sentence. Too many double negatives I think. Is he saying that counting calories has been proven NOT to work?
