Colustrum is the pre-milk liquid in the cow’s udder. It is milked within 16 hours of the birth of the calf. Only 5% of the milk is taken for human consumption. The rest is for the new born baby calf. Its loaded with immunity boosting nutrients and sometimes even used to treat dengue fever. Country folk make it into a gorgeous dessert, with dried ginger and cardamom, that tastes like custard pudding. Actually, much tastier.
