When do Goats produce milk?

I know that Cows only produce milk after they have been pregnant so I was wondering if it was the same for goats?

Yes, goats lactate after kidding and continue to lactate even after the kid is weaned as long as they are continually milked. Their productivity, however, drops after (many variables here) six months and the dairy farmer will dry them off (stop milking them) after (again, variables) no more than ten months.
Typically, goats will kid in February or March, produce milk theoughout the summer and be dried off by late fall.
