Standard lipid guidelines have really missed the point.
Triglyceride/HDL ratio is FAR more associated with coronary artery disease (or really any chronic disease) compared with total and/or LDL cholesterol — probably because elevated triglyceride/HDL ratio is a proxy for insulin resistance.

HDL: 53
