Below are views of one patient's experience with a hospital and doctor.
1. Medical industry (hospitals, pharmaceutical companies, doctors, etc.,) is designed to exploit 'fear' and 'ignorance' of patients.
2. Corporate hospitals are focused on bottom-line while doctors have to recover the huge cost they incurred for the cost of their education.
3. How do patients generally choose a hospital or doctor?
a. One that is closest
b. One that is reputed or advertises most
c. Word of mouth from friends/relatives
4. Many emergencies involve cardiologist or neurologist or both.
5. Hospital charged 100% more for the stent compared to the wholesale price. So, the 50% out of 100 is for the doctors/hospital.
The doctor prescribed Rs. 50 medicine while he could have prescribed Rs. 5 medicine.
